With the unexpected bonus of a practical lesson in resilience 😊
I am now back from having a great few days in Bournemouth at this year’s Virtual Assistants Conference.

I firstly want thank Amanda Johnson and her team at www.vact.co.uk for putting on a wonderful event.
It was a very long and tiring day on Friday for the conference, but I enjoyed every minute.
I shared the long journey from Oswestry to Bournemouth with another VA who lives locally to me Leila Griffith Jones. We had so much fun chatting about our VA journey’s and our businesses. We are now going to become Associates for each other.

The theme of the event this year was RESILIENCE.
The conference kicked off with a powerful keynote address from Jane Thomas, founder of Premier Life Skills www.premierlifeskills.co.uk . Jane shared her insights on building resilience in the face of adversity, she helped us understand the importance of workplace wellbeing, and the crucial role of mental health for all entrepreneurs.
Her message resonated with the audience, setting a strong foundation for the rest of the day.
Next up were Emily and Alan Braithwaite, www.yellowtuxedo.co.uk the dynamic duo behind Yellow Tuxedo. Their session focused on practical strategies for maintaining resilience in a fast-paced virtual assistant business. Practically showing us how to maximise our online presence to bring traffic to our website.
Lauren Malone, www.laurenmalone.co.uk a renowned Mindset Coach, Mentor and Expert in the VA community. Attendees left inspired and armed with practical tools to cultivate financial resilience in their own lives and businesses.
One of the highlights of the conference was a special guest speaker, Commander Ryan Ramsey from the Royal Navy. As a leader in a high-pressure environment, he shared his experiences and offered unique insights into resilience, adaptability, and teamwork. His talk left a lasting impression on everyone present, reminding them of the power of perseverance and camaraderie.
Beyond the engaging presentations, the conference provided an invaluable opportunity for virtual assistants to connect with one another.
In the evening we had an evening of celebration of all the achievement of VA’s over the last year.
It a great honour for me to be SHORTLISTED as a finalist in the Solo VA of the Year category.

The Unforgettable Alarm
After an evening of celebration, we all went off to bed for a well-earned rest.
But, then came the unexpected twist that none of us will ever forget. At 1 am, our peaceful slumber was shattered by a blaring fire alarm. The entire hotel was evacuated in a chaotic flurry of pyjamas and slippers. While it was undoubtedly an unexpected disruption to our sleep, it also served as a powerful reminder of the very resilience we had been discussing all day.
The entire hotel was evacuated, creating a shared experience that will undoubtedly be talked about for years to come. It brought us even closer together, a living example of the strength we all possess within. While it may not have been a planned part of the event, it served as a reminder of the importance of resilience in the face of unexpected challenges.

We will all definitely be talking about this for many, many years to come.
A good practical lesson in resilience 😂
Next week will be another busy week for Vicki Admin Fairy, I’m off to the Hilton in Reading for the Award Ceremony for the Strategic PA Network, where I am a finalist in the VA of the Year 2023 category.
Exciting times for Vicki Admin Fairy
