I’m absolutely thrilled to chat about something that’s been making waves in our industry: Artificial Intelligence (AI). 🤖Its not as scary as you may think.
What is AI ?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essentially about getting computers to think and learn like humans. It involves programming machines to perform tasks that usually require human intelligence, such as understanding language, recognising patterns, or solving problems. AI systems use data and algorithms to improve their abilities over time, often without needing detailed instructions for every single task. In a nutshell, AI aims to make machines smart enough to handle complex tasks on their own.
My AI Adventure Begins 🌟
Recently, I embarked on a fantastic journey by completing the AI Literacy for Professionals course with Dixon and Humphrey, and let me tell you, it’s been nothing short of eye-opening! This experience has not only reshaped my understanding of our profession but also unveiled a world of exciting possibilities that AI brings to the table.
Diving into this course felt like stepping into a whole new dimension. We started by unravelling the mystery of AI. It’s not just about robots taking over—though that sounds pretty sci-fi, right? 😅 Instead, AI is about advanced computer systems that can learn, solve problems, and understand language in ways that closely resemble human intelligence.
One of the stars of the show was ChatGPT, an AI language model that can hold conversations like a human. Imagine having a super-smart assistant that’s always on standby—never needs coffee or sleep—that’s ChatGPT for you!
But the course wasn’t all theory. We jumped straight into practical applications, and my VA brain was buzzing with new ideas. Whether it’s crafting content, analysing data, or improving customer service, AI’s got its digital fingers in all these pies. I learned how to harness these tools to elevate my own business. 🥧
And yes, we didn’t shy away from the big ethical questions. We had meaningful discussions about using AI responsibly. The goal is to enhance our human touch, not to replace it. If AI is used correctly it will revolutionise our lives for the better.
30 Years ago how many of us would have thought that talking to someone face to face on a mobile phone or laptop would be possibile? Yet today we do it several times a day probably. Technology is constantly evolving and we must embrace it and use it.
The Next Chapter: Intermediate AI 📚
Now that I’ve had a taste of what AI can do, I’m hungry for more! I’m gearing up for the Intermediate AI Literacy for Professionals course, and I’m practically bouncing with excitement. This next step will delve into advanced AI tools—think of it as meeting the new players in the AI world—and learn how to develop custom AI solutions tailored just for us. Plus, we’ll explore AI-powered analytics, giving us deeper insights into data than ever before.
