I can’t believe we’re already in May – this year has absolutely flown by! Between supporting my brilliant clients and tackling all things admin (which, let’s be honest, I secretly love), it’s been a jam-packed few months. So much so, that I’m only just sitting down to write about one of the biggest highlights of my career so far…
I’m incredibly proud to say that Vicki Admin Fairy® is officially a Small Business Sunday (#SBS) Winner – chosen personally by none other than Theo Paphitis himself!
Even better, I had the honour of meeting Theo in person at the SBS Winners Event at the ICC in Birmingham earlier this year. It was a true “wow” moment that I’ll never forget – receiving my certificate on stage from the man himself, in a room full of inspiring small business owners from across the UK.

Being chosen by Theo Paphitis as one of just six weekly winners felt like such a milestone. Out of thousands of small businesses across the UK, mine was selected and showcased across Theo’s social media platforms – with over half a million followers on Twitter/X, 50,000+ on Instagram, and nearly 300,000 on LinkedIn.
As part of this recognition, I was invited to attend the exclusive SBS Winners Event – and most excitingly, I got to shake Theo’s hand, have a chat, and be officially welcomed into the SBS community.
Seeing Vicki Admin Fairy® listed among the official SBS winners made me realise just how far my business has come – and how proud I am to be part of something so special.
📣 What is Small Business Sunday – and Why Is It Such a Big Deal?
Small Business Sunday (or #SBS) is a weekly initiative created by retail entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis in 2010. It’s designed to give small businesses a platform to be seen, celebrated, and supported.
Every Sunday, business owners can tweet Theo using #SBS between 5:00 and 7:30pm, sharing what they do. Theo handpicks six winners each week and shares their posts with his huge audience.
In 2025, the SBS network is celebrating its 15th anniversary and now boasts over 4,000 winners – all small businesses doing amazing things in their industries. Being part of that network now is something I’m incredibly proud of.
🎤 A Moment to Remember: Receiving My Certificate From Theo Paphitis
One of the most emotional and exciting moments of the entire experience was stepping onto the stage at the ICC Birmingham to collect my SBS certificate from Theo himself.
After building Vicki Admin Fairy® from the ground up – starting with one small client and growing into a full-time business supporting 15+ clients across the UK – it felt like a moment of real recognition.
That certificate now sits proudly in my office and serves as a daily reminder of how far I’ve come, how much I’ve achieved, and how valuable the work I do truly is.

The SBS Winners Event wasn’t just about recognition – it was packed full of learning, inspiration, and brilliant speakers.
Highlights included:

• Imran Hakim – whose Dragons’ Den success story and healthcare tech journey inspired everyone in the room.
• Jo Tutchener-Sharp – founder of Scamp & Dude, who spoke candidly about purpose-led branding and personal resilience.
• Google – with a practical session on upskilling and future-proofing your digital strategy.
• Richard Harpin – who delivered a memorable fireside chat, sharing wisdom from years of entrepreneurial experience.
The day was filled with actionable tips, refreshing honesty, and a real sense of community.

A major highlight for me was catching up with other amazing professionals in the VA and business support world, including:

These women are true powerhouses, and having the chance to share stories, support each other, and celebrate our journeys together made the day even more special.
Networking in rooms like that reminds me why connection matters – and why it’s so important to surround yourself with people who just get it.

Winning #SBS is about more than just a retweet or a certificate. It’s a celebration of resilience, dedication, and the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into running a small business.
I often help my clients stay organised, meet deadlines, and make sense of admin chaos – but I rarely pause to appreciate how much I’ve built myself. This recognition gave me the space to do exactly that. And I’m proud. Really proud.
Being part of the SBS community has also opened new doors, boosted my confidence, and reminded me that there’s a whole network of people cheering each other on behind the scenes.

This SBS win has given me even more enthusiasm as I look ahead to the rest of 2025. There are exciting things happening behind the scenes at Vicki Admin Fairy® – from new client projects and collaborations to expanding my services with smarter tools and tech.
I’ve also been developing new ideas around how to make admin support even more flexible and accessible – especially for neurodivergent and disabled entrepreneurs, who I love working with.
So yes, I’m proud of what I’ve achieved – but I’m also excited for what’s next. Watch this space!

And speaking of exciting things… the next big milestone for me is just around the corner!
I’m absolutely delighted to share that I’m a finalist in the Woman Who Achieves Awards 2025, taking place on 9th May at the stunning Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire. These awards are all about celebrating and empowering women in business – and to be recognised among such a strong group of female entrepreneurs is a true honour.
The event is organised by the incredible Sandra Garlick MBE – a real force for good in the business world and someone I admire greatly. Sandra has been a brilliant supporter of women in enterprise, and being part of her wider community has helped boost my confidence and visibility.
Whatever the outcome on the night, I’ll be attending full of pride, sparkle, and gratitude – and ready to celebrate everything we’ve achieved as women in business.
