Practical support, quiet encouragement, and permission to rest this Christmas
Discover how Calm Business Support can transform your approach this festive season.
If you’re crawling toward the end of the year with 47 tabs open, a half-decorated tree, and a business to-do list that keeps rolling into tomorrow… I get it.
December often brings reflection, but for self-employed people, it can feel more like a mash-up of burnout, last-minute client requests, chasing invoices, and trying to squeeze a few hours of rest in between. Calm Business Support can help you navigate this busy period.
If you’re tired, a bit flat, or just ready to press pause, you’re not doing it wrong. You’re running a business in the real world.
💼 Sound Familiar?
Maybe you’ve spent 2025 doing everything yourself.
Maybe you’ve had help, but it’s still felt like a juggle.
Maybe you’re proud of what you’ve done, but also low-key exhausted.

You’re not alone if…
- You’ve been working evenings or weekends just to stay on top of admin
- You’ve lost hours to your inbox and still feel behind
- You’ve told yourself you’ll get round to sorting your systems “next month”
- You’ve wondered whether you’re allowed to say no to a client
- You’ve put off trademarking your business name because it all felt too complicated
If any of that sounds like you, know this: nothing is broken.
You’re not behind. You’re building something real and that’s never perfect.
📚 Tools That Might Help in 2026
If you’re looking for support, but don’t know where to start, I’ve created a few straightforward resources to help you ease into the new year with a bit more clarity and calm:
- Confidence & Clarity VA Pack: Templates and guidance for setting boundaries, communicating clearly and building structure
- The Self-Employed Companion: Scripts, strategies and real talk for handling tricky client conversations
- Trademark Made Simple: A plain-English guide to the UK trademarking process, written for small business owners
No fluff. No complicated platforms. Just practical support written by someone who understands the self-employed reality.
💬 What I’ve Heard From Others This Year
This year, I’ve spoken with dozens of business owners who’ve said things like:
“I just need to get a grip on my admin, but I don’t even know where to start.”
“I keep giving away my time and regretting it later.”
“I’m good at my work, I just want the back end of my business to feel less messy.”
If you’ve ever said something similar, you’re not failing. You’re growing.
And you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
🧠 Why Visibility Matters (Even Quietly)
While I’ve been working behind the scenes for my clients, I’ve also been using my voice in places that matter especially as a disabled business owner and advocate for inclusive entrepreneurship.
This year I’ve:
- Taken part in a Department for Business & Trade roundtable
- Spoken on More Than a VA and Sandra Garlick Inspires podcasts
- Shared my journey on BBC Radio Shropshire
- Attended the House of Lords twice (SmallBiz100 and Lilac Review)
- Sponsored the FBN Summer Festival and 3 Spoonies Podcast
- Continued mentoring through Digital Boost and training VAs through the Society of VAs
Not for visibility’s sake. But to show that small businesses and disabled founders belong in every room.
🏆 If You’ve Been Wondering If You’re Doing Enough
Here’s something I want to say clearly:
Awards are lovely, but they’re not the measure of a good year.
Yes, 2025 included some proud moments:
- Winner – Inspirational VA, VA Awards
- Runner-Up – Freelancer of the Year, Business Success Network
- Finalist – Business Support, Female Business Awards
- Named one of the Small Business 100, and toured Westminster
- Finalist in 8 national awards across inclusion, service, and entrepreneurship
But what I’m proudest of is the real change behind the scenes.
Clients setting stronger boundaries. Getting paid. Saying no. Taking a break.
That’s what matters.
And if you’ve had any moment like that this year however small it counts.

🎯 Looking Ahead
No dramatic rebrand. No five-step reinvention plan.
Just more of what works.
In 2026, I’ll keep helping small businesses:
- Chase late payments
- Set up simple systems
- Protect their brand
- Communicate clearly
- Build calm into their day-to-day
Quiet progress is still progress. And support doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
If you want things to feel easier next year, I’m ready when you are.

🎁 A Christmas Message From Me to You
If you’ve got to the end of this year still standing, even if just barely, that’s enough.
You don’t need to finish the year on a high. You don’t need to post wins or set perfect goals.
What you do deserve is a break. A proper one.
So switch off. Rest if you can. And please, don’t judge your whole year by how productive December felt.
Wishing you a calm Christmas and a start to 2026 that feels steady, supportive and yours.
